Matt Blair at The Foolish Galatian has posted a series of photos to Flickr documenting the step-by-step process involved in transforming a Reformation Study Bible into a multi-volume "blank" Bible. If you're curious about what a book binding looks like when the cover is stripped away, this pictorial is worth checking out. Matt takes a razor to the thing, separating the individual signatures. After looking at the photos, I feel a bit like King Agrippa -- almost persuaded. I'm still a little too squeamish to try something like this myself, though it looks like fun.
Very interesting process. I am rather daunted by the thought of undertaking such a project. I know I don't have the steady hand or attention to detail (or the patience?) to do something like that. It's a neat idea, though.

Thanks for the post Mark. If there is any way whatsoever I can help anyone who is thinking of taking on the project, I'd love to help or offer advice.
It's a bit un-nerving to slice up a brand new bible, but after the second or third cut, the tension diapates. If your a "handy" person, this is definately a do-able project.
Blessings!
Matthew

...oh, and apologies to my incorrect terminology (i.e. "packets" and signatures and the like).

If anyone might be interested, I might consider trading this Reformation Blank Study Bible for a reasonable trade. I'm looking for a high quality ESV.
Just food for thought to anyone interested....

Mark,
I've had a change of mind. I would be interested in donating my Reformation Blank Bible to someone who can use it much more than I ever could. I work 2 jobs in a blue collar industry, and the time I would love to have to fill its pages is non existent. After consideration, I am thinking about running some type of "essay" contest to find someone who could use it. If you would be interested in helping the cause by posting something about it, I'm sure we could find someone out there to bless. I am thinking about approaching some other bloggers with the same request. I think the only requirement would be the person would have to be either in pastoral ministry or are working their way toward it.
I'll be making a post over at my own blog with my intentions soon.
If you might be interested in helping, you can reach me at thefoolishgalatian [at] gmail [dot] com
Thanks Mark!
