Very nice stack, i have a "thing" for small pocket bibles, that Nelson looks nice.....

i just purchased Cambridge Pitt Minion NKJV and i love it, If you like that Wide Margin KJV, you should get a Cambridge Concord Wide Margin in Goatskin, it is the most "floppy" and subtle thing i ever held, it is a symphony to hold, entire new dimensions open up...it is just the bible of bibles to me, Mark reviewed the NASB version of it here on this site, i ordered the KJV Concord and it surpassed any expectation i had, i never seen such a nice binding and the goatskin is wonderful. And also all these rebinding is making me want to do a rebinding in my mother tongue.

My stack has increased since i got to know this site, still my collection lacks an Allan bible.... Thanks for the pictures

I'd like to know more about the Mechling project (NASB).

Christian,
I would love to hold and feel one of the Cambridge Concords in Goatskin as I hear so many good things about them, and maybe I'll bite the bullet and get one sometime soon...however, I think it would have a much larger feel than my Cameo and would take some getting used to because of the size.

PDS,
My fault, the description above for the NASB is worded incorrectly...the last part should say: "...everything I said 'below' applies...". And that is in reference to the Scofield that I had rebound by Mechling at the exact same time. It is a thinline version of the NASB, and almost the identical size of the Nelson Signature Series pictured on top of it. The binding is very good quality, unfortunately, the paper lining made it very stiff. I know this because I actually pulled the paper lining off, and it was immediately more flexible, but that left the exposed light board which is white and very unattractive. So I'm hoping to one day send it off again, and get the deluxe rebinding that includes a leather lining.

On the NASB that you had rebound by Mechling what kind of leather is that rebound with? I have a KJV Nelson Slimline that I would like for them to rebind. Just curious what you would recommend. Thanks.

What kind of leather Bible is that Scofield? Is that from Oxford or has another company made the leather? I ask because it looks a lot nicer than the Berkshire leather one that I own.

James

"KJV Scofield rebound by Mechling: I don't really use the Scofield anymore, but doesn't everyone have at least one? Or if you don't, your dad or grandfather certainly did. I had this Bible rebound by Mechling before they offered the 'Deluxe' version lined with leather. Mine was bound with goatskin lined with regular black paper over light board. And while the goatskin is superbly soft, there is no limpness or floppiness to it because of the paper lining. I'm interested to try Mechling's new 'Deluxe' method."

Ok. I dont know how I missed this last night. Thanks. Looks like a nice Bible. I just orderded one from Lewis Bibles in Calfskin. The one I own is Berkshire, I wanted better leather. That Goatskin looks great man.

Hello there. I have been looking for the KJV Nelson Signature UltraSlim Bible in Calfskin black for sometime now. The only ones i have found have the house on the binding instead of the nelson name as your pic of the stacked Bibles has. If anyone has any idea where I could find one to purchase I would be greatly appreciative..

thanks,

Phil
