Fr. Matthew

Mark,

Seeing a small press run of this Bible sparked a curiosity question for me. Have you ever come across any companies/binders who will accept the electronic version of a book (i.e., a pdf file) from a customer and then do a full print job (smyth sewn, gilt edges, leather binding, ribbons) in a small quantity (something like 1-10 copies)?

As an Orthodox Christian priest, one of the ongoing issues I have is poorly typeset and bound liturgical books. (I'm very jealous of Anglicans who can get a BCP in any size or shape!) If I could prepare and run something in the same spirit of what we see here with Bibles, I'd be beside myself.

Such a gorgeous set of volumes. Possibly the nicest layout I have ever seen for the KJV.

Kevin Sam

It's the classiest layout I have ever seen for any bible--KJV or not.

Well, you did it again! I also had to go out and click on "buy it now"...

Looks like a nice one though! :^)

Father Matthew,

I ask your blessing.

I see that Mechling bookbinding not only does Bible restoration, but it seems that they also are capable of small scale publishing as well.

Hope it may help with your project!

Just recieved my set of Nonesuch Bibles. I was thinking of possibly having them all bound into a single set, but after seeing them in person, I think I'll leave them "as is". Found them on EBay for $49, in good shape.

Very nice Bible indeed!

The very first woodblock print in Genesis made me laugh, with its' not so subtle imagery! ;^)

I just noticed an eBay auction going on that some of you may be interested in!?

It's a very rare & old Cambridge KJV - apparently the first one Cambridge printed way back in 1629. If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you'll see a few nice photo's of it - certainly a collector’s item & only $1400 (so far!) - any takers?
