Aspinal of London also has some luxurious notebooks http://www.aspinaloflondon.com/eshop-catalogue/albums-and-books/leather-journals

I would like to add my praises for the Gfeller covers. I bought two of the large size, one brown and one in the tan kip. Personally I like to use that size of the Moleskine cahier notebooks and I can put two in each cover, sliding the front cover on one in the front flap and the back cover of the other in the back flap--of course those don't come with the elastic band. But I use one cahier for personal notes and the other for Bible notes. The cahiers also come with a tan cover so that blends as well. I find that size very easy to carry with a Pitt Minion or Cameo edition. I see on Mark's cover that the serial number and cartouche are on the back flap whereas mine were in the front flap.

I like Renaissance Art's moleskine covers. They feel great and are very rugged. They don't come in tan though, just the brown or black leather. Either way, they smell great out of the box!

David -- There's an Aspinal journal in the photos. The jewel calf covers are rather stiff, though.

David F -- I hadn't thought about the size of the larger Moleskine relative to the Pitt Minion. Maybe I need to get another Gfeller cover...

John -- The Renaissance Art covers look a little too rough and rustic for my taste, but that's only judging by the photos. I haven't seen one in person. How's the fit and finish?

Mark -

The Renaissance covers are softer than they look in the pictures. I'll see if I can send you pic from my wife's Bible cover.

Oh and the fit is perfect. Nice and snug.

I was fine with the concept of a $100 notebook...but I was not fine with seeing you immediately scrunch it up in your hand to see how flexible it was. :)

My sister and I are highly entertained by your posts. We now feel like going around and feeling and bending all the books we have. I have a blank book fetish of my own, but would never be able to bring myself to write in one that cost more than $20. Thanks for your thoughts.

I want point out some advantages of leather notebook, the soft leather cover that will gently hold and protect your pages in every situation is crafted of fine leather; it is a brilliantly understated cover that adds both durability and a graceful simplicity to your notebook.

The leather notebook available in a variety of sizes and options that include either a refillable paper supply or a permanently stitched binding for a different type of permanent work, you can match your leather notebook to your own needs and expectations.

Mark,

I enjoy your blog and your collection of Filofax and other items. I had been waiting for the Allan Journal to go back into production. I wanted to buy one of their Bibles along with a couple of Journals. Now there website seems to have shut down completely. Can you shed any light on what has happened?

Thank you.

Richard
